Chandrani Sinha is an award-winning independent multimedia journalist based in Guwahati, Assam, India, with over a decade of experience reporting on climate change, health, and environmental issues. Her work has been featured in prominent outlets like The Third Pole, Washington Post, and Climate Home.
A 2024 East-West Centre Hawaiian Fellow for Cross-Border Climate Change Reporting, Chandrani has also been recognized as a U.S. State Department IVLP Fellow (2022) for combating misinformation in media. She received the Azadi Project Young Achiever Award (2023) for her impactful work on climate migration and is a 2023 Medicines Sans Frontiers Fellow for her focus on neglected tropical diseases.
Her investigative reporting includes uncovering the effects of Assam’s NRC on climate victims, earning her a finalist spot for the Asia Centre-Oxfam Award. Chandrani’s story “Laments of Brahmaputra” won the 2022 Covering Climate Now Global Journalism Award, showcasing the emotional toll of climate change. She continues to amplify marginalized voices from India’s eastern corridor with global resonance.
