In June, a Singapore Airlines flight experienced severe turbulence, in which one person — who had a heart condition — died, and a number of others were injured. This was only the latest in a series of incidents that have focused attention on increased air turbulence and its possible link to climate change. On May 1, 2022, a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Kolkata in India experienced similar turbulence, leaving numerous people injured.
